Cruise Port Navigation was born out of Heather’s passion for travel and cultural interest in East Asia and Japan. Heather is an experienced sightseer with 25 years of travel and cultural knowledge of the East Asian/Japanese market. She has worked in the travel industry with assignments to Japanese ports of call as a port lecturer and cultural historian. Heather has a bachelor’s degree in Asian Studies, specializing in Japan, from Furman University; a master’s degree in Asian Studies, specializing in Japan, from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor; and an MBA from Michigan State University.

As CTO, Brad lends his expertise as a tenured software developer with specific skills in artificial intelligence (AI). He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, as well as master’s and doctorate degrees in computer science and engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Brad’s research focuses on autonomous planning and scheduling. Before graduate school, he worked as a software engineer for Matsushita Electric Works (National/Panasonic) for two years in Osaka, Japan.
Drawing upon his extensive experience as a world traveler and leading groups abroad, Sid has a keen eye for the needs of the seasoned cruiser trying to navigate East Asia. Although officially retired, he supports CPN as an advisor in numerous ways.
CHIEF JAPAN BRANCH COORDINATOR
Yurika manages the daily operations of Cruise Port Navigation’s office in Odawara, Japan. During her childhood, she spent time in various parts of the U.S., including Los Angeles. After graduating from Keio University, Yurika worked in human resources for both Japanese and international companies representing various industries. She is also a nationally licensed guide-interpreter who garnered professional experience as both an in-house and a freelance interpreter before transitioning to freelance work.
MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS
Paula is a retired marketing and communications professional. During her 40-year career, her positions included marketing research analyst and marketing director for two regional newspapers, as well as the director of communications for a community college. She is assisting CPN in its advertising and communications efforts.
USER EXPERIENCE APP DESIGNER
Katrina brings her knowledge as a user experience designer, marketing and web designer, and senior UX designer to ensure travelers can navigate the CPN app with ease. Her professional experience includes web design for an audiology practice and for companies such as Pearson Education and General Dynamics.
